What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain open source security baselines for Microsoft 365 and Intune that the community can use and contribute to
- Create custom baselines and policy sets tailored to specific client verticals, compliance needs, and MSP service tiers
- Map baselines to recognized frameworks such as CIS, SMB1001, Essential Eight, and NIST.
- Cover the full M365 surface, not just devices. Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, Purview, conditional access, and tenant-level configuration all matter here
- Help MSPs understand how to actually implement these baselines, including rollout strategy, exception handling, and what breaks when you turn something on
- Work directly with users on how to deploy and manage baselines through CIPP, including standards, templates, and drift detection
- Write documentation, guides, and community content that makes hardening approachable rather than intimidating
- Test baselines against real tenants and iterate based on community feedback from our Discord
Background and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience administering and securing Microsoft 365 tenants
- Deep working knowledge of Intune, including configuration profiles, compliance policies, app protection, and Windows and macOS management
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, SMB1001, Essential Eight, or similar, and experience translating them into deployable configuration
- Understanding of the MSP space, multi-tenant management, and the operational realities of supporting many clients at once
- Comfortable with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for reading and applying configuration at scale
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to people who are not in your head
- Bonus: hands-on experience with CIPP
- Bonus: experience with other multi-tenant management or RMM platforms
- Bonus: existing contributions to open source security or baseline projects
